

The Associate will report to the Silicon Valley Manager. Some evening and weekend work will be required for events. This position is 40 hours per week and is anticipated to start in June or early July 2023. The Associate will participate in team meetings and will have opportunities to attend trainings and events related to human rights, as well as network with colleagues around the world. The Silicon Valley Associate provides detail-oriented administrative support to the Development and Outreach team, with a focus on managing and organizing the Salesforce database while also collaborating on all communications, administration, and event coordination. The Silicon Valley office serves as an important base for HRW’s development, fundraising, and outreach activities in the San Francisco Bay Area. In conjunction with the Director of CEED, evaluates programs, makes recommendations, and implements changes accordingly.The Development and Outreach Department of Human Rights Watch (HRW) is seeking candidates for the position of Associate in the Silicon Valley office.Ensures programs and activities meet conservation behavioral outcomes.Collaborates with the CEED team to align programs and activities to spiraling curriculum and ensures programs are developmentally appropriate.Develops and teaches programs, tours, workshops, presentations, and other programmatic activities for a variety of audiences on and off-site.Manages the Adult Volunteer program with support from the Director of Conservation Education and Engagement.Manages and coordinates the OWLs (teen volunteers) program, the Kids’ Discovery Field Station activities, and provides support to all other CEED programs and activities.Collaborates with community organizations to develop mutually beneficial partnerships.Develops and implements school-based programming, both on- and off-site.This includes developing and implementing school programs and other community-based programming, managing adult and teen volunteer activities, as well as supporting the CEED team in all programs and activities, on- and off-site. Works with the Director of Conservation Education and Engagement to create engaging experiences that inspire conservation action.
